John’s Song
Here’s a new clip from the great guys at ‘Flying Knee Productions’. It’s from the new album ‘Float Your Blues Away’. It’s a tune I wrote for my uncle who inspired me to start playing the guitar. Many thanks to Clareen Banjo’s for letting us shoot there. If you want a top Banjo they’re the place, they make some fine Mandolins too and stock a whole range of other instruments as well. Memories of an Old Friend
Ó Ráinne Guitar endorsement, new videos and Womex 2013
Great news, I have some new videos on the way from Flying Knee productions in Galway. On a few tracks I’ve been playing an absolute beauty of a guitar I’m endorsing made by Donal Ó Ráinne. His instruments are available through Kieron Molloney in Galway and are truly fantastic in construction, sound and set up. I’m delighted to be endorsed playing Ó Ráinne Yew body 13 fret.
Also I’ve recently been awarded the Travel and Training Award through the Arts Council and Culture Ireland to head to Womex a world music convention at the end of October in Cardiff. I’ll be part of the Irish delegation. Hopefully it’ll lead to good things, more playing, collaborating, touring and making some great music. I’ll post more about that soon.
