From hibernation tomorrow I’m emerging to play Neachtains in Galway with the wonderful Marcus and Molloy on Bass and ‘The Stunning’ Cormac Dunne on drums. It’s always fun to play there and with the guys. Then on Wednesday I’m really exited as I’ll be playing music for the Galway Dance Co-Op. We tried it out the other week and it’s so much fun to play for the dancers. See https://www.facebook.com/galwaydancecoop for more details.

A Great Big Thanks
A Happy New Year to you all – and it’s time to say a Big THANK-YOU to everyone who’s helped support my music this year. 2013’s been packed with new ventures, new faces, new directions. It began with a bang- the ‘Bahh Band India Tour’ – a real dream come true for the band. A big Thanks due to Mattu Noone’s hard work who made it possible. Back in Ireland, between teaching sessions I wrote, recorded & released ‘Float Your Blues Away’. This took me touring the new album around the country, and in the summer, to gigs at the Suwalki Blues Festival in Poland which led to performing with Polish Blues artist Magda Piskorczyk in Warsaw. The Island of Inis Bofin provided a cool recording location for a session with Peader King and Josh Johnston creating a documentary soundtrack. Great to be back with them again after our gigs in Avignon the summer before. After a BBC radio appearance with my cousin, Emily Portman, at Womex in Cardiff, came another Irish tour, this time with the awesome Dege Legg from Louisiana. It’s just so good to get out and play, to create the music I’m into. Sharing it with you and, I know from many comments touching your hearts, is really honoring: I appreciate it so much. Once again a great Big Thank You. I’m really looking forward to where this years musical adventures will go. Have a great Year!
