Delighted to say as usual there’s loads going on musically in my life and for once I’ll try to be a bit more media savvy and actually post about it rather than just leave it for sporadic posts.
Tonight I’m with the ‘Tom Portman Trio’ in Padraicins Bar in Furbo. We’re playing a mixture of our originals and of course a homage to the Blues. It’s a great bar with a really warm reception to the music and a great location right on the beach.
On Saturday night I’m lucky to be playing with the John Conneely Band in Emmets in Balina. It’s always a treat to be playing with this superb vocalist who used to front the West of Ireland Band ‘Charis’.
On Monday it’s up to Dublin to play the guest slot with the ‘Lazy Band’ in Bewley’s cafe Theatre. It’s an all acoustic night, no mic’s, no PA, no DI’s, I can’t wait, I’ll be playing music from my up coming album. The ‘Lazy Band’ play Americana, Folk, Trad and Roots Tunes on the last Monday of every month in Bewley’s! It’s an 8pm start and it’s limited to 50 places so if you want a place get there early as I think it packs out.
Other than these gigs I’m busy preparing for recording a new album. Finishing off arrangements and getting everything set up. Every time I do this I forget how much time it takes! On that note, back to work!
Cheers, Tom.
